The New York Times llamó hoy a las autoridades mexicanas a aprobar nuevas normas que hagan más difíciles las demandas por difamación contra los periodistas, con el fin de que puedan investigar e informar sobre los poderosos.
El diario estadounidense, en un editorial, llama la atención sobre los efectos negativos que está teniendo para la prensa una «reciente oleada de demandas engañosas» contra periodistas, a la que se añade una decisión judicial que en mayo eliminó máximos monetarios en reclamaciones por difamación ante la Justicia.
