El diario The New York Times publicó hoy un editorial en el que critica que el precandidato presidencial republicano Donald Trump vaya a participar en un acto de recaudación de fondos en la pequeña localidad de Long Island donde en 2008 se asesinó en un crimen de «odio» al joven ecuatoriano Marcelo Lucero.
«No hay lugar donde debieran abrirse las puertas a las políticas de Trump, pero la elección de Patchogue (donde ocurrieron los hechos) es particularmente reprobable», dice el diario, que apunta que el acto tendrá lugar en la sala «Emporium», en la misma calle donde fue asesinado Lucero por un grupo de adolescentes blancos.
